Refunds
Widerruf und Erstattung
Every detail on this page is filled in and each one is a fact we checked — what the system actually stores and for how long, and what our providers' own published terms say. What has not happened is a lawyer reading it end to end. This notice stays until that does, because a policy that reads as settled while being wrong is worse than one that says where it stands.
Shortirex is sold through Paddle, and that changes who you are buying from — which in turn decides whose refund terms apply. This page says so plainly rather than restating rules we do not control.
Who you are buying from
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Your right to withdraw
Consumers in the EU, EEA, Switzerland, the UK, Turkey and Israel have a 14-day statutory right to withdraw from a digital service contract and receive a full refund. Elsewhere Paddle applies 7 days in South Korea, Brazil, Canada and China, and 5 days in Singapore. Where local consumer law grants more, the more generous rule wins; nothing here reduces a right you already have.
When it starts again, and when it does not apply
The plain "14 days from purchase" is not the whole rule, and the parts people are caught by are the ones below.
- A subscription's first payment is covered; later renewals are not. Each renewal is a separate charge you can avoid by cancelling before it falls due.
- After a free trial, the 14 days start again. Paddle: "If a Subscription includes a free trial period, then, as soon as that free trial period ends, you will again have a period of 14 calendar days to exercise your right to withdraw."
- An annual subscription bought in the UK gets a fresh 14 days at every automatic renewal — starting the day it renews. This is a UK-specific rule and does not apply elsewhere.
- Starting to use the product can end the right early, but only with your express consent. Paddle: "The right to withdraw does not apply to the supply of digital content Products that have started to be downloaded, streamed or otherwise used, when you have given express consent to waive your withdrawal rights." Both halves are required — consent alone does not end it, and use without that consent does not end it either. If you were never asked, you still have the full period.
Beyond the statutory right
Separately from the above, Paddle may at its own discretion refund a request made within 14 days of the transaction date. Asking does not guarantee approval — that decision is Paddle's and not ours, which is the honest thing to say about a policy we do not control. We add no goodwill period of our own on top of the statutory 14 days.
How to ask
Paddle handles refunds directly, so the fastest route is theirs, not ours:
- Use the View receipt link in the confirmation email Paddle sent you, or
- go to paddle.net and choose Request refund.
An approved refund is returned to the original payment method within 14 days. You can also write to us at info@satety.de and we will take it up with Paddle, but going to Paddle directly is quicker.
Cancelling instead of refunding
Cancelling stops the next payment and leaves your access running to the end of the period you already paid for. It is not the same as a refund and does not need one. You can cancel from your account page at any time.
Faulty or not as described
None of the above affects your rights if the product is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose. Those rights are statutory and are not limited by this page.
